The Swedes Bar & Bistro has received TripAdvisor’s Traveler’s Choice Award, an award that is given to the top 10 percent of restaurants on their platform.
Reviewers have given the restaurant a 4.5 or higher average rating, ranking it as one of the top restaurants in Puerto Vallarta.
“As we head into our 15th season serving the community, we are honored to receive, once again, the Travelers Choice 2024 award from Trip Advisor,” they wrote on their Facebook page. “This award is given to the top-rated 10% of restaurants on their platform. We are thankful to the staff, patrons and community for continued support and are humbled to be in such great company with several other restaurants and venues in our tropical paradise.”
Since 2009 The Swedes Bar & Bistro has been a staple in Puerto Vallarta’s restaurant scene. It gained a new owner in August 2022, with restaurant industry veteran Christopher Maluck taking the helm. Maluck is a Denver, Colorado native and has been working in hospitality since he was a young child.
The Swedes was founded by Morgan Granander along with his then partner. The building it is in was originally a two-story residence that sits on the corner of Olas Atlas and Púlpito.
