Fashion, film and beachfront glamour will come together May 13, 2026, when Villa Tita & Casitas hosts Sunset Cinema: The Devil Wears Prada, an open-air event overlooking the Bay of Banderas that will feature cocktails, music, a fashion presentation and a special appearance by actress Tracie Thoms.
The event will feature a screening of the 2006 hit film The Devil Wears Prada, starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. The comedy-drama, centered on the fast-paced world of fashion publishing, remains one of the most recognizable fashion films of the last two decades. You can purchase tickets here. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Vallarta Gay+ Community Center, which provides health services, advocacy programs and community support initiatives in Puerto Vallarta.
Actress Tracie Thoms is expected to attend as a special guest following her appearance at the world premiere of The Devil Wears Prada 2. Thoms portrayed Lily, the best friend of Hathaway’s character Andy Sachs in the original film. Her character served as a grounding influence as Andy navigated the demanding and glamorous world of fictional fashion magazine Runway.
Wendy Warhol, a longtime presence in Puerto Vallarta’s drag and nightlife scene, has played an integral role in supporting promotional activations throughout the city. During the evening, she’ll present a glamorous and playful homage to Miranda Priestly, embodying the iconic fashion powerhouse in signature style.
Beyond The Devil Wears Prada, Thoms is known for her work in the film adaptation of Rent, the television series 9-1-1 and Cold Case.
Organizers said Thoms will participate in a live conversation and audience Q&A discussing behind-the-scenes stories, her acting career and the lasting cultural impact of the film.
The evening is designed to combine cinematic nostalgia with a “high-style social atmosphere,” featuring sunset cocktails, poolside seating, music and fashion presentations.
A runway presentation by Davali Studio is also planned during the event. The fashion house has recently gained attention for styling contestants associated with Miss Mexico 2026 promotions. Kevin-Anthony will serve as host, with fashion commentary provided by Josué Ledezma.
The event offers two ticket tiers. The Pool Terrace package includes early entry to a private cocktail reception with Thoms, reserved seating closest to the screen, a specialty “Cerulean Spritz” cocktail and commemorative popcorn merchandise. Lower Balcony admission includes reserved balcony seating, popcorn and a beverage package.
