More than 600 travel agents from across Mexico gathered in the Puerto Vallarta metropolitan area for a weekend of networking, training and industry experiences during the 25th annual Ponte Las Pilas Puerto Vallarta – Riviera Nayarit Congress. The event, organized by wholesaler Record Vacation, brought together representatives from 550 travel agencies.
The congress began with site inspections at participating host hotels, giving agents firsthand knowledge of the properties, amenities and services available to future clients.
During a welcome cocktail reception at the Krystal Puerto Vallarta hotel, organizers recognized the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust for its consistent support of travel professionals. Tourism officials, in turn, thanked Record Vacation for its role in strengthening the regional tourism industry through the annual initiative.
At a gathering held at the Paradise Village Convention Center, Jorge Benavides, general director of Record Vacation, thanked attendees for their dedication to driving domestic tourism growth.
Benavides also recognized the event’s partner hotels for their support, presenting special recognitions to participating properties. Honored hotels included the Buenaventura Grand, Canto del Sol, Dreams Vallarta Bay, Friendly Fun, Crown Paradise Golden, Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta, Krystal Puerto Vallarta, Krystal Grand, Las Palmas by the Sea, Meliá Puerto Vallarta and Sunscape.
The event program included an inspirational keynote presentation titled “Success Without Excuses” by author and speaker Adriana Macías, who focused on resilience and determination in achieving professional goals. To mark the silver anniversary of the congress, the weekend concluded with a comedy performance by stand-up comedian Daniel Sosa.
The annual convention aims to strengthen regional industry relationships, drive summer travel sales and build brand loyalty among Mexico’s leading travel and hospitality professionals.
