On the morning of Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the organizers and curatorial committee of the Muyguud International Contemporary Art Fair announced a call for artists to participate in the event’s second edition, which will take place in Puerto Vallarta this November. Artists have until Sunday, May 31, to submit their proposals to convocatoria@muyguud.com.
The details of the call were unveiled during a press conference at the 2.16 Contemporary gallery (Constitución 325, Zona Romántica). The event featured directors and gallery owners Orlando Santamaría and Abrajam Romero, accompanied by curator Lupita Basulto, Sharo Garcia (Institutional Relations), and artists Pierre Fudaryli, Óscar Torres, Luis Lepe, and Natalia Balzaretti.
Lupita Basulto emphasized that submissions will be evaluated based on their ability to engage with the current contemporary context. She noted that the goal is to create a space for collaboration rather than competition, placing both emerging and established artists at the center of the event.
Application Requirements
To apply, artists must submit the following:
- Dossier: PDF format (maximum 4,000 characters).
- Portfolio: Up to 10 pieces in JPG or video format (maximum 2 MB per file).
- Work Proposals: 1 to 5 pieces, including technical specifications and pricing.
- Scale: Medium-scale works (not exceeding 2 meters).
- Selection Criteria: Curatorial evaluation based on the proposal and its contemporary focus.
The full guidelines are available at www.muyguud.com.

The inaugural fair, held from November 20–22, 2025, brought together the work of 42 national and international artists—a figure organizers expect to surpass in 2026. Confirmed international participants include artists from the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and France. Among the confirmed national talent are Óscar Torres, Natalia Balzaretti, and Puerto Vallarta native Luis Lepe.
Abrajam Romero concluded by stating that Muyguud aims to “transform Puerto Vallarta into the epicenter of contemporary art on the Mexican Pacific, leveraging its strengths as an active cultural destination beyond its natural beauty.”
