Two of RuPaul’s Drag Race biggest alumnae are coming to Puerto Vallarta
Manila Luzon — runner-up on Season 3 and a two-time All Stars competitor — and Latrice Royale — a Season 4 fan favorite and Manila’s own All Stars 1 teammate as “Team Latrila” — are confirmed to perform Thursday, July 30 at 6:00 p.m. on the Romantic Zone’s main stage, as part of Latin Fest: Diversity Week. Admission is free.
The main stage will be located at the intersection where Mr. Flamingo and CC Slaughters is located — Av. Ignacio L. Vallarta y Lázaro Cárdenas, Zona Romántica.
Both queens have built major international followings well beyond the franchise, and their booking is likely to be the single biggest draw of the week.
What won’t be happening is any version of the previously announced RuPaul’s Drag Race Mexico: Latina Royale premiere. City officials have confirmed there will be no premiere or screening of the Mexican spinoff at the festival.
Also added to the schedule is María Daniela y su Sonido Lasser, a Mexico City electropop and technopop duo — María Daniela Azpiazu and producer Emilio Acevedo — formed in 2002 and best known for early hits like “Miedo” and “Me Provoca.”
And finally, the “Gala Altamar (\”Mentiras\” musical)” is a special and energetic musical presentation of Mentiras El Musical, Mexico’s most iconic jukebox music production of the 1980s, designed especially for the main stage of the Latin Fest.

Voces del Orgullo
The Friday evening Voces del Orgullo ceremony — now in its third edition, having previously been held in Mexico City in 2024 and 2025 — will honor local activists for their community work.
A committee tied to the nonprofit Voces del Orgullo project (founded by digital media personality Quique Galdeano, backed by LGBTQ+ outlet Escándala) will select one winner in each of the four categories, for a total of four honorees.
Each of the four winners will receive a 50,000-peso stipend — 200,000 pesos in total — intended for local or national activists who have historically funded their own community’s causes out of pocket.
This year’s nominees span four categories and mix longtime local organizers with figures who’ve built national profiles:
Voz del Orgullo a la Trayectoria (Lifetime Achievement):
Jaime Cobián Zamora, Víctor Manuel Espíndola Villegas, Héctor “Teto” Bentancourt, and Jackye Arteaga.
Voz del Orgullo a la Visibilidad (Visibility):
Alberto Fabián Sahagún Orozco, Edgar Treviño Montes, Karina Velasco Michel, and Juan Carlos Rodríguez Robles (“Meño Candora”).
Voz del Orgullo a la Responsabilidad Social (Social Responsibility):
Pablo Orozco Chávez, Maky Karolyna, Alan Yamil Carranza Hinojosa, and Alfredo Soria Soto.
Voz del Orgullo al Impacto Social (Social Impact):
Rodrigo Aguilar Cornejo, Panche Ville (“Gatoquepinta”), Tomás Uriel Ferrer Gutiérrez, and Pedro López.
The ceremony will be hosted by Valeria Vera and Samuel del Río Félix.
Lighting the Pier
Beyond the published schedule, the Los Muertos beach promenade and Muelle de los Muertos (Pier of the Dead) are getting a visual overhaul: an RGB screen has been mounted on the structure of the promenade’s sailboat sculpture – uilt from 120 strings of transparent LED cable, each 25 meters long with 250 RGB LEDs spaced every 10 centimeters — roughly 30,000 individually programmable LEDs in total- alongside an illuminated heart-shaped structure, 15 illuminated pennant structures, and a hands-shaped illuminated structure. The system is fully programmable in any color, not fixed to a single palette.
Organizers say the festival is free to the public.
