Lime, the largest and most innovative electric scooters company in the world, announced the start of its operations in Nayarit and part of Jalisco. Thus, the alternative urban transport system can be used as of today in Nuevo Vallarta and Marina Vallarta, making this area the first beach city to have this service.

In the first phase of the mobility project, electric scooters will gradually be added to more streets in Jalisco and Nayarit, in order to have a presence throughout the tourist area of Vallarta, facilitating mobility for tourists and residents of the area.

Alexander Wieland, General Manager of Lime for Mexico, said that ” Lime has grown significantly in the country and we will continue working with the different authorities of all cities to expand and provide smart mobility to more and more people. We are pleased to know that today electromobility has reached Vallarta Bay. “

In the official presentation of the platform were present Jorge Villanueva, President of the Association of Employers of Puerto Vallarta and Bahía de Banderas (AEBBA); Claudia Guzmán, head of the Directorate of Tourism and Economic Development of Bahía de Banderas, and Roderick Chow, Director of Regional Development of Lime, who jointly announced that scooters can already be found in different parts of the hotel zone.

“By systematically deploying the electric scooters in Bahía de Banderas, we join the municipal actions to improve mobility conditions in the state, with a sustainable alternative that reduces pollution, vehicle saturation and the replacement of short trips with alternative transport” , said Alexander Wieland.

The use of electric skateboards will facilitate mobility in the area, because to use them it is only necessary to follow these simple steps:

  1. Download the Lime app
  2. The user checks the availability of scooters using the GPS they have integrated.
  3. Unlock the service by scanning a QR code using the Lime app.
  4. At the end of the journey, it blocks the service and pays quickly and safely.

Lime, in addition to offering a new option of mobility with the scooters, which have a capacity of up to 50 kilometers of autonomy for urban use and can reach a maximum speed of 25 km / hr, also presents an innovative way to generate income for the inhabitants of the area, by recharging the batteries of each scooter.

The charging system works with daily charge batteries, so, in the hours of least influx of people, usually in the evening hours, the scooters are removed to perform the recharge.

The price of the scooter service will be 20 pesos per unlock and three pesos for each minute used. In order to publicize the platform, the promotional code ” LimeVallarta ” was activated in the app , which will be valid for six months and through which users can make use of four free 10-minute trips each.
