The route for the tourist revival of Puerto Vallarta is ready. Starting this week, the various segments of the tourism sector will be able to carry out the protocols gathered in the Plan for the Economic Reactivation of Jalisco, issued by the state government, for its imminent gradual reopening from June 1, once the period of confinement indicated by the federal government.

The hotels, restaurants, service providers, transport companies, the airport and shops in general, already have a clear guide to the actions to be taken to be ready as soon as mobility is reactivated and pleasure travel can be restarted.

In general, the plan defines concrete actions that must be followed by the different actors in the tourism industry to transmit confidence as a tourist destination that is carrying out comprehensive, not isolated, actions in all areas visited by tourists from their arrival to their departure from the destination. .

Once again, Puerto Vallarta shows that it lives up to the needs of the tourism sector, putting the safety and health of its visitors at the center of the actions, as required by the new normality that we are about to start, in which many of the protocols that we have known will remain in force.

IN THE AIRPORT

Since the arrival of the visitors, at the Puerto Vallarta International Airport, the Pacific Airport Group (GAP) will maintain the installation of sanitary controls in coordination with the competent authorities, the measurement of temperature with remote thermometers, the installation of thermographic cameras and the implementation of posters and videos to inform or promote Covid-19 hygiene and prevention recommendations.

In addition, the GAP announced that social distancing measures will be maintained, consisting of limiting the access of companions to terminal buildings, maintaining a healthy distance in lines and processes with installation of vinyl on the floor, scheduling the alternate use of lines at points for inspection, separating benches and limiting the capacity in aerocars and commercial premises.

HOTELS AND RESTAURANTS

In all the hotels in Puerto Vallarta, recognized for their excellence in service, emphasis should be placed on disinfecting spaces such as the lobby, corridors, common areas and, of course, the rooms. Cleaning will be thorough and detailed in high contact spaces such as floors, elevators, handles, railings, and toilets.

Hotels must verify that all spaces have strict limitations, which reduce capacity by at least 50 percent. Staff must wear mouth covers at all times and avoid physical contact with guests.

Meanwhile, in restaurants – great representatives of the destination’s renowned gastronomic offer – hygiene, always relevant, becomes essential, which is why the number of diners will be reduced to a maximum of 50 per establishment with a distance of not less than 1.5 meters between tables. .

Likewise, disinfection processes for crockery, cutlery, tablecloths … different from daily cleaning will be implemented. The receipt of food and supplies also has a distancing and disinfection protocol.

In both cases, hotels and restaurants will have an isolation protocol and support for people who may have symptoms associated with Covid-19.

OTHER SEGMENTS

In the International Convention Center less is more, for this reason the capacity of the venue will be reduced and strict sanitary control measures will be applied, starting with the distancing of those attending. The capacity in the main room and the adjoining rooms will be reduced by 50 percent, and there will be a strict protocol for receiving attendees that favors distance.

For their part, tourist transport companies will put a greater dedication to cleaning vehicles both outside and inside –from sedans to buses-, to which is added the use of mouth guards by drivers and guides, the application of a protocol for handling luggage and dealing with clients, who will be transported to their hotels in small groups.

For the commercial sector, as part of the Zero Phase protocols launched by the Jalisco government, the website sira.jalisco.gob.mx was enabled for companies that want to start work on June 1 to register, there They must provide general information on the establishment, location, contact with the Ministry of Health liaison, as well as economic activity and the implementation of the sanitary checklist, to obtain a sticker that guarantees that they are ready to reopen.
