Designer Eduardo Villegas unveiled his Summer 2026 collection Thursday night at La Santa, the upscale nightclub venue known for its VIP lounges and indoor pool, in a runway show that drew applause throughout the evening.
The show was split into two parts. The first half leaned into bright colors meant to evoke Puerto Vallarta’s energy and coastline, with lightweight, flowing fabrics, statement hats, sheer panels and tulle detailing. Menswear looks featured cutout backs, a design choice meant to suggest movement and a contemporary take on formalwear.
The second half shifted to an all-white palette, featuring evening gowns and tailored suits described as more formal and restrained.
Alejandra Cornejo Cornejo, Puerto Vallarta’s director of economic and tourism promotion, presented recognitions to Villegas and the models following the show, citing fashion’s role in the city’s cultural and creative identity.
Claudia Ríos Rodríguez, general director of the Universidad de la Vera-Cruz, also took part in the recognition ceremony. She spoke about the value of giving younger students exposure to international-caliber fashion events as a way to encourage careers in design and the fashion industry.
Villegas has built a career representing Mexican fashion on national and international stages. Organizers described Thursday’s show as a showcase for Mexican design talent.
