Christian Alexis Velasco, associate publisher and editor of Out & About PV, is leaving the publication to accept a new job opportunity within an organization dedicated to promoting Puerto Vallarta internationally. A native of Puerto Vallarta, Velasco grew up in the city’s Zona Romántica on Aquiles Serdán, giving him a deep connection to the community and culture he will now help showcase on an international stage.
Velasco joined Out & About PV as associate publisher and editor in October 2025, helping expand the publication’s editorial coverage, strengthen relationships throughout the LGBTQ+ community and tourism industry, and support the continued growth of both the magazine and its digital platforms.
“We are quite sad to see Christian go, but we are excited for him and his future,” said Jerry Jones, publisher of Out & About PV. “He will be a great ambassador for Puerto Vallarta. We’re proud that his work here helped prepare him for this opportunity.”
Velasco said the opportunity fulfills one of his longtime personal and professional goals.
“Representing Puerto Vallarta has always been a dream of mine,” he said. “Growing up here gave me a deep appreciation for this city, its people, and everything it has to offer. I’m grateful to the entire Out & About PV team for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to grow as a journalist, editor and publisher. I will always be proud of what we accomplished together.”
Jones said Out & About PV will continue its commitment to serving readers, visitors and the local LGBTQ+ community with trusted journalism and community coverage.
“Christian will always be part of the Out & About PV family,” Jones said. “We’re incredibly proud of him, and we know he’ll represent Puerto Vallarta with the same passion, professionalism and authenticity that made him such an important part of our team. We wish him every success and look forward to working with him in his new role.”
