If you’re a wine enthusiast, mark your calendar for April 17, a world-wide celebration set aside as Malbec day.
The initiative started in 2011 to promote Argentine Malbec. And with 75% of Malbec worldwide produced in Argentina, it’s the perfect time to taste the richness of the terroirs that comes with the wine.
La Tienda Grande invites you to be their special guest, to celebrate World Malbec Day, and they’ve prepared a special tasting dinner, paired with wine from Casa Madero.
The vineyards and winery of Casa Madero are located at the foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountains in the northern state of Coahuila in Mexico. Casa Madero has the distinction of being the oldest and most historic winery in the Americas. Located in the north-central state of Coahuila, it is roughly 140 miles west of Monterrey, and 270 miles southwest of Laredo, Texas. Casa Madero as a direct result of a land grant from the Spanish King dated August 19th, 1597.
“We have a few spaces available and invite you to enjoy a unique night in the company of Casa Madero,” said Gabriel Arvelo, general manager of La Tienda Grande.
You’ll enjoy a six-course menu, with each course paired with a special Malbec wine. Three different Malbecs will be offered, including a special Malbec wine cocktail by Aaron Mendez.
The price of the special dinner is $1,350 pesos per person. The restaurant opens at 6 p.m. and reservations are highly recommended.
