Puerto Vallarta’s International Convention Center hosted a gala Thursday night, March 26, 2026, for the 10th edition of the Food and Travel Reader Awards, honoring top Mexican gastronomy and travel experiences from 2025. The state of Jalisco secured top honors in six major categories—including a sustainability award for Puerto Vallarta’s Canopy River Park.
Organized by the travel magazine Food and Travel, the event featured 34 categories and 180 nominees.
The event gathered the elite of the tourism industry, beginning with a red-carpet welcome cocktail on the venue’s esplanade. The ceremony was hosted by popular TV presenter Claudia Lizaldi and Arturo Torres Landa, editorial eirector of Food and Travel Mexico, with entertainment provided by Comedian Jesús Guzmán.
Attendees enjoyed a four-course dinner prepared by chefs Thierry Blouet of Café des Artistes and Mauricio Leal of ICÚ.

Jalisco’s Secretary of Tourism, Michelle Fridman, expressed her enthusiasm for hosting the awards in Puerto Vallarta for the first time.
“This year Jalisco will host over a hundred events, including the Berlin ITB Travel Fair, the Michelin Awards, Fashion Week, the International Book Fair, and various sporting, cultural, and artistic milestones,” she said.
During the ceremony, Puerto Vallarta’s Canopy River Park was honored as the Best Sustainable Tourism Proposal. The state of Jalisco excelled in five additional categories: Best Beach Resort (Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo), Best Restaurant in the Interior of the Republic (Hueso), Best Bar in Mexico (El Gallo Altanero, Guadalajara), Best Established Restaurant in Mexico (Alcalde), and Best Content Creator (Alan por el Mundo).

Organizers confirmed that this tenth edition of the awards garnered 59,000 votes over a four-month period.
