Art, wine and cuisine came together March 12 for an intimate evening of culture and conversation at Casa Cupula, where about 40 guests gathered for the debut of the new “Art & Dine – Art, Wine and Destiny” dinner experience inside the hotel’s Bistro Gallery.

The curated dinner combined contemporary Latin American artwork with a plated three-course meal designed to complement the gallery setting, transforming a traditional dinner into a multi-sensory event blending gastronomy, visual art and community.

Held inside the recently redesigned gallery space at the boutique hotel in the Amapas neighborhood, the evening brought together a mix of international visitors, Puerto Vallarta residents and members of the local art community.

“This is the kind of evening that Puerto Vallarta does best,” Alfonso Regalado, events director for Casa Cupula said. “You meet interesting people, discover great art and have an incredible meal all at the same time.”

Regalado added that the concept was designed specifically to offer visitors a more intimate cultural experience beyond the city’s nightlife and beach scene.

Guests were welcomed with a cocktail as music played from guest DJ Alpha Hore, setting a relaxed but stylish tone for the evening. Tables were arranged throughout the gallery, surrounded by bold contemporary paintings from Latin American artists curated by Colombian art dealer and curator Christiam Castillo.

Castillo guided the concept of the evening, which paired art with culinary storytelling.
The Bistro Gallery itself has evolved into a distinctive cultural space in Puerto Vallarta, showcasing contemporary works from artists including Monica Villarroel of Chile and Colombian artists Uvaldo Torres, Jimmy Villegas, Juan Manrique Silva and Iván Guayasamín.

Dinner service began shortly after 7 p.m., with the first course highlighting fresh regional ingredients. The dinner was limited to roughly 40 guests – and it was a full house. Regalado explained that they were already busy planning the next dinner, which will be held on March 26, 2026. Tickets, which are $899 pesos, are available here. The ticket includes a three course dinner and a welcome drink. Paired wines are available for an additional cost.
Guests were able to choose between two themed menus — “Marine Inspiration” or “Earth Inspiration.”

The marine-inspired menu opened with seared tuna tacos served on handmade blue-corn tortillas, finished with a sesame crust, avocado cream and fresh cilantro sprouts. The dish balanced crisp textures with the richness of barely seared tuna, while the deep blue corn tortillas added both color and earthy flavor.

The main course featured grilled mahi-mahi topped with a bright passion-fruit sauce, served alongside a delicate potato soufflé that added lightness and structure to the plate.

The meal concluded with a classic tiramisu, its layers of coffee-soaked sponge, mascarpone and cocoa providing a refined and balanced finish.

Guests who selected the Earth Inspiration menu experienced a more land-focused interpretation of the evening’s culinary theme.

The first course featured a silky asparagus panna cotta, topped with crispy serrano ham and shaved Parmesan, creating a contrast of creamy texture and savory crunch.

The main course followed with beef tenderloin in bordelaise sauce, accompanied by braised vegetables, a classic preparation that highlighted the richness of the beef and the depth of the wine-based sauce.

Dessert arrived as a traditional crème brûlée, its delicate caramelized crust cracking open to reveal a smooth, aromatic custard beneath, offering a simple yet elegant close to the evening.

That combination of art and hospitality is a natural fit for Puerto Vallarta, a city known for its long-standing reputation as both a culinary and artistic destination. Reservations for the March 26 dinner are available through Casa Cupula and Eventbrite.
