The “Beyond the Sun” Art Auction, happening on May 26th, 2024, invites art enthusiasts and supporters to a unique event showcasing the works of over 30 renowned and emerging Mexican artists, including established names like Alejandro Colunga, Vicente Rojo, and José Parra, alongside exciting new talents like Demián Romero, Sofía Crimen, and Pulse.

Held on the closed cobblestone street of Púlpito 180 in the Amapas neighborhood, the auction boasts an elegant atmosphere. Guests will be greeted with a red carpet entrance, a refreshing cocktail, and the vibrant sounds of a DJ spinning tunes throughout the evening.

Beyond the art, the event aims to raise funds for the ARTe VallARTa Museum, supporting its programs for children, women, and LGBTQ+ artists.

The evening takes guests on a captivating journey. Following the initial registration and a welcoming cocktail, attendees can immerse themselves in an audiovisual prologue featuring the Arte Vallarta story and messages from sponsors.

A special presentation then highlights the “Rescue of the Love Tree” initiative, followed by the much-anticipated launch of the call to create Puerto Vallarta’s first “Love and Diversity” sculpture.

The heart of the event lies in the live auction, expertly led by renowned painter José Parra from Guadalajara. Bidders will have the opportunity to acquire pieces from various artistic disciplines, including painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, urban art, and even small format illustrated works, with starting prices ranging from $1,500 to $4,000 USD.

The diverse selection caters to a wide range of artistic tastes, making it a perfect platform to discover and invest in emerging talent or add a unique piece to an existing collection. Works will range from exquisite pieces to those specifically appreciated by the “queer ghetto” community, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

The night culminates in a celebratory “chill out” session, allowing guests to connect, reminisce about the thrilling auction, and bask in the afterglow of a night dedicated to art, community, and a celebration of love and diversity.

Those unable to attend the exclusive auction can still participate in the week-long festivities surrounding Vallarta Pride.

An art preview takes place on May 24th and 25th at Arte Vallarta, followed by a silent auction on May 29th. The week concludes with an art exhibit showcasing the acquired pieces, open to the public from May 30th to June 5th.
