Lix, a beloved local ice cream brand known for its artisanal creations, takes a philanthropic lead by becoming a gold sponsor for the annual talent contest and fundraiser benefiting the RISE orphanage.
This is Lix’s third year as a gold sponsor of the “So You think You Can RISE” Variety Talent Show.
Recognized for their gourmet, small-batch ice creams crafted from top-quality ingredients like fresh fruits and Belgian chocolate, Lix also offers a delightful assortment of brownies, salted caramel, cookies, and ice cream sandwiches.
Kathleen and Todd Atkins purchased Lix seven years ago. Since then Lix has grown to three locations in Puerto Vallarta – they built a kitchen store in 2019, and opened the malecon store in 202. Lix originally opened in 2012.
The couple’s commitment to the RISE orphanage spans six years, rooted in their belief in community support for children who have faced abuse or abandonment.
Kathleen was even a contestant on the very first So You Think You Can Rise show, performing as a comedian.
Kathleen emphasizes, “The welfare of these children is a shared responsibility, and even a modest donation of $10 a month can significantly impact their lives.”
Their involvement with RISE was sparked by witnessing the dedication of friends Lisa and Billy to the cause. Through their engagement, Kathleen and Todd recognized the pressing needs of the organization and embraced the ethos of giving back to their community.
Beyond crafting delectable treats, the Atkins’ vision for Lix was to spread joy.
Kathleen expresses, “Ice cream has an incredible power to bring happiness. We take pride in the countless compliments we receive, and being able to offer our homemade delights to the community brings us immense satisfaction.”
The collaboration with RISE aligns with Lix’s ethos, reflecting their commitment to supporting the community. This sponsorship not only showcases their dedication to crafting exceptional ice cream but also emphasizes their passion for creating a positive impact beyond their business.
