The popular Olas Altas street in Puerto Vallarta’s Zona Romántica has welcomed a new restaurant and bar featuring a Tex-Mex comfort food concept. The venue is backed by the service expertise of Corporativo EuroSpa PV, the local company behind established LGBTQ+ favorites such as Spartacus Sauna (Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta), Spartacus Boutique Hostel, and Hamam Turkish Spa.
Coco Loco, opened on Dec. 30, 2025, and features a fresh, tropical atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating with a total capacity of 40 people. Guests are invited to start with refreshing appetizers, such as frozen fruit margaritas, before diving into menu highlights like “Nachos Locos,” chili dogs, deep-fried burritos, or the Mexican classic, Cochinita Pibil tacos.
According to manager Yonicel Griñon, Coco Loco is the result of a creative collaboration between Chef Fernando Martínez and the corporate staff and leadership teams. “The goal is to maintain the essence of Mexican cuisine while incorporating Tex-Mex elements that we know the public loves,” Griñon stated. “We would love for everyone to come and experience it.”
Chef Fernando Martínez, a Mexico City native and graduate of the Coronado Culinary Arts Institute, promises diners a surprise. “While the dishes are familiar to everyone, at Coco Loco we wanted to give them a ‘twist’ so guests can experience unexpected flavors,” he explained.
The drink menu features a full bar, including beer, wine, and house cocktails. Since opening a few months ago, favorites have included the Espresso Martini and the signature “Coco Loco” cocktail (coconut rum, mango, passion fruit, and lime).
Its prime location on one of the busiest and most vibrant streets in the Zona Romántica—close to Los Muertos Beach and various entertainment centers—makes Coco Loco an excellent choice for a casual meal with friends. Whether you are stopping by before or after enjoying the sunset, or heading out to a show or the local nightclubs, it is perfectly situated for a great experience.
Coco Loco is located at Olas Altas 490 A, Zona Romántica, and is open Monday through Saturday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
New ‘Boys PV’ Bar Announced
Francisco Pinedo, administrator of Corporativo EuroSpa PV, expressed enthusiasm for the opening and teased more upcoming projects for Puerto Vallarta’s LGBTQ+ community. Specifically, he announced the forthcoming opening of Boys PV, a new “cruising bar” concept set to debut in the coming weeks on Ignacio L. Vallarta Street, across from CC Slaughters.
“This new bar will feature an industrial, masculine concept,” Pinedo concluded. “The gay community can expect house music and fresh elements that haven’t been seen yet in the local nightlife scene.”
