Puerto Vallarta bars can resume activities and operate at 50% of their capacity. The city council has authorized these establishments to stay open until 2:00 am as long as they fill an online application through Reglamentos and respect the sanitary protocols against the Covid-19 contingency, such as the use of face masks, temperature checks, antibacterial gel, and sanitizing mats at the entrance. Starting Thursday, August 6, food consumption is no longer mandatory in order to drink alcohol, so clients will now be able to enjoy music with their favorite cocktail. Depending on the adherence to this rule by businesses, in the following days, the city could allow these venues to stay open until 3:00 am. Similarly, nightclubs could have authorization from the local government to open sometime within the next two weeks.

According to business owners, bars on Morelos street and other areas near El Centro will open their doors tonight and some others that had already opened offering restaurant services will begin operating as usual with the possibility to order food from nearby establishments. However, dancefloors and live entertainment are not allowed yet. The municipalities of Guadalajara and Zapopan could be adopting the same rules in an effort to reactivate the economy and prevent these venues from closing permanently.
