Alberto Cuevas and Friends came together on Saturday, July 13, for a benefit performance for the former employees of Hotel Mercurio at the Cuale Cultural Center.
Despite rain, a small enthusiastic crowd enjoyed some great performances and raised more than $5,500 pesos, with much of that to benefit the former employees after expenses. Performers included Alberto Cuevas (known as El Diamante), Pianist Salvatore Rodriguez, Angelica Estrella/ Angie Star, Armando Chakám, Wendy Warhol, Diva Daniela, Alonso Sax and his dancers and Ritchie.
Gift certificates were auctioned off from ThrIVe MedSpa and IV and Mr. Bear.
Former Hotel Mercurio Owner Paul Crist was in the audience and went on stage to thank everyone for coming and thanked the community for the support. He said he continued to be overwhelmed by the outpouring of support the hotel had received.
