And Celebrates Grand Opening of Mary Ann’s Ovations Piano Bar
ACT2PV has begun the first of many fundraisers as part of a capital campaign to raise money for an elevator so that patrons can have an easier time reaching the second floor of the theater venue.
Newly appointed General Manager David Sabella had told a group of LGBTQ+ business leaders last week about the elevator, saying that it would cost an estimated $17,000 USD, but was an important part of ACT2PV’s community rebuilding program.
In addition to fundraisers, Sabella is seeking Subscribers, Patrons, and Sustaining Donors for ACT2PV, and said almost all aspects of the theater needed some type of upgrade. He said the theater is willing to partner with any business in thinking of creating ways for finding some of the solutions they need.
And so, on Sunday, June 16, the first-ever “Tony Awards Celebration – A Vallarta-Chic Gala” will be held at the Mary Ann’s Ovation Bar at ACT2PV, coinciding with the televised Tony Awards (It will also mark the grand opening of Mary Ann’s Ovations Piano Bar).
The evening begins at 4:30 p.m. and will be hosted by David Maiocco (AKA “Liberace”) and “Mr. Broadway” himself, David Sabella. The event features a 50/50 raffle and a live auction of several different items, with all proceeds supporting the Act2PV Capital Campaign for the elevator.
Auction highlights include:
– A $5000 (MXN) gift certificate for Cassandra Shaw Jewelry
– An ATV Tour for 2, courtesy of Unique ATV
– Two designer purses (new and in box) donated by Mary Ann Renaldue
– A high-end bottle of wine (valued at $150+), also donated by Mary Ann Renaldue
– A romantic dinner for 2, with an overnight stay at the stunning Casa Karma Villa & Event Space
– A luxurious yacht excursion provided by Tom Bernes
Tickets are priced at $600 pesos and include a glass of champagne, hors d’oeuvres, salad, and a pasta dinner.
