The magic of the holiday season has officially arrived at Los Muertos Pier in Puerto Vallarta. Around 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2025, Mayor Luis Munguía and DIF President, Claudia Peña, led the official lighting ceremony for what has been announced as the tallest Christmas tree in Mexico, rising approximately 30 meters (100 feet) into the sky.
Surrounded by hundreds of enthusiastic spectators, local authorities shared warm holiday wishes with the community and celebrated the warmth of the city’s spirit.
The festive transformation began at the entrance of the pier, which featured a grand, illuminated archway shaped like a Christmas gift. Along the length of the iconic boardwalk, various glowing seasonal figures were installed to enhance the holiday atmosphere. To conclude the evening, the crowd enjoyed a live set by DJ Roderic, providing a vibrant soundtrack to the spectacular light display.
This event opened Puerto Vallarta’s “Sea of Gifts” Christmas festival, with activities through January 1, 2026. Check out the complete program here.
