Cuevas, an ambassador for Vallarta Pride, and a prominent figure in the fight for human rights, has dedicated her life to advocating for marginalized communities, particularly transgender women, sex workers, migrants, and homeless individuals. As the founder and president of the Casa de las Muñecas Tiresias organization, she has established shelters across Mexico to provide support and refuge to those in need.
One of her most impactful endeavors has been the recovery of 69 unidentified bodies from the LGBTQ+ community, victims of hate crimes or tragic circumstances. Working in collaboration with the Institute of Forensic Sciences in Mexico City, Cuevas has played a crucial role in restoring dignity to these forgotten individuals.
Her tireless efforts began in 2018, following the murder of her friend Paola Buenrostro, an event that profoundly impacted her life. Since then, Cuevas has been committed to honoring the memory of those lost and ensuring that their identities are recognized.
