The Vallarta Diversity Network, a coalition of LGBTQ+ organizations, announced the “Caravan for Equality ” on May 17th, Mexico’s National Day of Struggle Against LGBTphobia. This initiative aims to promote inclusion and equality for all residents of Puerto Vallarta, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
The announcement was made at a press conference on Thursday, May 2, 2024, on the rooftop of Blue Chairs Resort and Hotel. Attendees included representatives from the Vallarta Diversity Network including Colectivo Vallarta LGBT, Conexión LGBT, Diverso Vallarta, MOVii, PV Lesbian Pride, Seremos Padres, Transties, Vallarta Gay Plus, Vallarta Pride, Vallarta Queer and Vallarta Trans.

At the diversity press conference representatives from various political parties participated in a draw to define the Caravan’s route, including Luis Tello for Movimiento Ciudadano, Luis Escoto for MORENA, Álvaro Gómez for the Labor Party, Alan Yamil Hinojosa for Fuerza y Corazón por México, Marisela Marín for Hagamos, Laurel Carrillo for the Green Ecologist Party and Melissa Madero for the Future match.
Each representative had the responsibility of removing from a ballot box the ballots that determined the times and locations where the candidates for the municipal presidency of Vallarta will sign commitments for sexual and gender diversity. Each also spoke on behalf of their party.
The commitment that each candidate will sign has not yet been completed, and it will be unveiled to the candidates and the public on May 15, 2024.

- 8:00 AM – Las Juntas (Strength and Heart for Mexico)
- 9:00 AM – Plaza Ixtapa (Green Ecologist Party)
- 10:00 AM – Prepa Vallarta
- 11:00 AM – Pitillal Square (MORENA)
- 12:00 PM – Lázaro Cárdenas Park (Future)
- 1:00 PM – Presidency
- 2:00 PM – Plaza Hidalgo (Labour Party)
- 3:00 PM – Los Sauces (Citizen Movement)
- 4:00 PM – Plaza Infonavit (Let’s Do It)
The Vallarta Diversity Network invites all citizens to participate in this significant event, building a more inclusive and diverse Puerto Vallarta for everyone.
