Puerto Vallarta is taking steps toward bolstering its medical tourism industry with the launch of a new partnership aimed at providing safe, high-quality care for patients traveling for medical reasons.
In a recent meeting the government of Puerto Vallarta, led by Mayor Luis Munguía, joined forces with officials from Aguascalientes to promote the “Safe Medical Tourism” initiative. The program seeks to offer secure lodging, quality medical care, and peace of mind for patients and their companions, all while building trust in the growing medical tourism sector.
The collaboration includes a proposal to establish a twinning relationship between the two cities, enabling them to share best practices and successful strategies. “Puerto Vallarta welcomes you with open arms. Today, our shared vision and interest in working together are very clear,” said Munguía during the meeting.
Aguascalientes, which has a well-established reputation in the field of medical tourism, was highlighted for its specialized care, certified physicians, partner hospitals, affordable treatment options, and strong air connectivity. These factors have made the region a key player in Mexico’s medical tourism industry.
“Aguascalientes is a leader in this sector,” said Mayor Leonardo Montañez of Aguascalientes. “This meeting addresses not only economic and cultural issues but also social aspects that will continue to strengthen the relationship between our two cities.”
The new collaboration aims to enhance medical tourism in the coastal city of Puerto Vallarta, expanding its tourism offerings while ensuring the health and safety of patients. The partnership represents a shared commitment to the well-being of citizens and visitors alike, with an emphasis on health, security, and mutual growth.
