The Puerto Vallarta Office of Sexual Diversity has relocated to Lázaro Cárdenas Park, also known as Parque de Los Azulejos, and operates from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to serve the LGBTQ+ community.
The office provides services such as legal advice from attorneys specializing in sexual diversity issues, psychological support from trained professionals, and tourist information to help visitors enjoy the city safely.
Héctor Ramírez Betancourt, the head of the office, emphasized the importance of the new location in providing a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community. He expressed gratitude to Mayor Luis Munguía for supporting the relocation.

The Office of Sexual Diversity was established following the Puerto Vallarta City Council’s approval of a reform to the Municipal Government Regulations on December 18, 2024. This reform included the incorporation of Article 230, which created the Sexual Diversity Department within the Quality of Life and Social Development Directorate. The department aims to promote and protect the human rights of LGBTQ+ individuals, ensuring principles of equality, dignity, inclusion, and non-discrimination.
In January 2025, Mayor Munguía announced a restructuring of the city’s organizational chart, naming local LGBTQ+ activist Héctor Ramírez Betancourt as the first-ever Head of Sexual Diversity. This appointment was part of an effort to achieve economic savings and improve administrative efficiency.

The relocation of the Office of Sexual Diversity to Lázaro Cárdenas Park reflects Puerto Vallarta’s ongoing commitment to supporting its LGBTQ+ community. The office’s services aim to address the specific needs of LGBTQ+ individuals, fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for both residents and visitors.
