At 11 p.m., Munguía appeared on the balcony of the municipal palace, flanked by members of the Mexican army as well as representatives of the 41st Military Zone and the 12th Naval Zone. This moment was an homage to the struggle for their historic independence. Ringing the bell with fervor for the Independence Day ceremony, he called on Vallartenses to honor the nation’s founding figures.

“Mexicans, long live the heroes who gave us homeland and freedom,” Munguía shouted. He continued with cries of “¡Viva Hidalgo! ¡Viva Morelos! ¡Viva Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez! ¡Viva Allende! ¡Viva Aldama y Matamoros! ¡Viva la independencia nacional! ¡Viva Puerto Vallarta! ¡Viva México! ¡Viva México! ¡Viva México!”

The Independence Day ceremony concluded with the national anthem, followed by fireworks that lit up the night sky over the Pacific coast resort city. Festivities continued with live music on the Malecón, highlighted by a performance from La Sonora Dinamita, which kept the crowd dancing late into the night as they celebrated independence.
