The municipal government has issued a one-month ultimatum to Red Ambiental, the company holding the city’s garbage collection concession, demanding the immediate regularization and normalization of its services.
Mayor Luis Munguía announced the deadline, stating that the company must resolve the persistent issues that have plagued the city’s waste management. According to Munguía, the company was previously given an opportunity to design a solution on garbarge pickup, but the proposed model has failed to work.
“The company will now have to adapt to the specific needs of the municipality and find an effective solution to the problem,” Munguía stated.
The mayor emphasized that if Red Ambiental does not comply with the city’s demands within the established timeframe, the municipal government will review contract termination clauses and new ways to address the persistent garbage issue.
“There will be no turning back,” Munguía asserted, signaling a potential end to the contractual relationship.
