Calling all fright fans and theater lovers! Teatro sin Borders brings a chillingly delightful adaptation of the classic horror film “Beware the House on Haunted Hill” to the stage at the American School by the Marina.

A Night of Spooky Secrets and Suspense:

The play follows wealthy producer Frederick Loren as he throws a twisted birthday bash for his wife, Annabelle. The offer? A cool $10,000 to anyone brave enough to spend a night locked inside the “only truly haunted house in the world.”

But lurking spirits aren’t the only threat – hidden secrets and dark motives simmer beneath the surface as a group of colorful characters gather: a plucky student masquerading as a paranormal expert, a sharp-tongued critic, a narcissistic actor, a pompous psychiatrist, and the house’s unsettling owner, who seems to relish the guests’ potential doom.

Brace yourself for a night of spooky thrills, unexpected twists, and a dash of dark humor as these strangers become entangled in a web of lies, betrayal, and even murder!

With diverse backgrounds and a shared passion for the stage, this talented group of actors, directors, crew, and volunteers have already brought two acclaimed productions to life – “Lend me a Tenor” and “Leading Ladies.”

“Beware the House on Haunted Hill” runs from November 20th through 24th, and returns for a second showing from November 27th to 30th. Tickets are only $250 pesos and can be purchased in advance online at teatrosinborders.com.

And in the spirit of giving, the theater will be collecting toys at the door for the Toys for Tots program. So grab a spooky beverage, bring a new unwrapped toy for a child in need, and prepare for a frightfully fun evening at the theater!

Beware the House on Haunted Hill – playing at the theater at the American School by the marina, the show runs Wednesday November 20th through Sunday November 24th, and then again Wednesday November 27th through Saturday November 30th.

Teatro sin Borders is a diverse ensemble theater in Puerto Vallarta showcasing local talent in full-length plays, with full sets costumes, lighting, etc. The theater consists of local and international actors, directors, stage managers, sound and light crew and volunteers with diverse backgrounds, who believe in making theater accessible for everyone. We have already presented two plays to rave reviews: “Lend me a Tenor” in the Fall of 2023, and “Leading Ladies” in the Spring of 2024.

“The ghosts are moving tonight. Restless. Hungry.”

Wealthy producer Frederick Loren throws a birthday party for his less-than-beloved wife, Annabelle, and offers to pay each of their guests $10,000 if they dare to spend one night locked inside “the only really haunted house in the world”. But, ghosts aren’t all there is to fear, as everyone seems to have skeletons in their closets, especially Nora Manning, a plucky young student who is impersonating a famous paranormal expert. 

Trapped in the house are paranormal expert Nora Manning, acid-tongued newspaper critic Ruth Bridgers, impossibly vain actor Lance Schroeder, pompous psychiatrist-to-the-stars Dr. David Trent, and the creepy owner of the house, Watson Pritchard, predicting doom and death at every turn. As they face a night filled with ghostly terrors, Nora and the others find themselves entangled in a deadly web of lies, deceit, betrayal, and even murder!  

Who will survive the night in the House On Haunted Hill? Only the ghosts know for sure!
