Awaysis Rio Bar, the “little brother” of Awaysis Bar, will open May 18, 2024 just behind Awaysis Bar, promising air conditioning in a small intimate space.
It’s a new project by brothers Gavin Garner and Adam McRoberts. You can find Awaysis Rio Bar at Rivera del Rio 166, Colonia Emiliano Zapata, just behind the main Awaysis Bar on Aquiles Serdan.
“We’re excited to be able to offer our customers an intimate air conditioned space during the hot summers,” explained Garner. “You’ll find Awaysis Rio Bar as a small intimate space with bright colors. Inside you’ll find our famous ‘Do Epic Shit’ neon sign and a beautiful tropical river mural painted by local artist Luis Guzman. It’s a chill space meant for small gatherings to enjoy delicious cocktails, a river area view and local entertainment, all while staying nice and cool.”
McRoberts said the space would comfortably accommodate 20 to 30 people, and throughout the summer there would be live acoustic performances featuring local artists. The grand opening will feature The Lovers Acoustic Duo with Chabe and Renato.
The main bar, Awaysis, will be closed during the hot summer months. The large open air bar isn’t able to accommodate air conditioning, and the new space allows for the customers to be cool and comfortable.
“We are creating the Awaysis Rio Bar specifically for the summer months,” McRoberts said. “We will reopen the main Awaysis Bar in October.
Starting May 18, 2024, you’ll be able to visit Awaysis Rio Bar every day from 2 to 11:00 p.m.
The kitchen in Awaysis will also be closed, but Awaysis Rio has partnered with Romantic Wok to offer fast delivery service to the bar, and they will offer their menu to customers.
Garner and McRoberts said the following specials would be offered:
Monday all day happy hour.
Rest of the week 2:00-5:00 p.m.
Happy Hour: Corona/Pacifico for 35 pesos. House Margaritas and House Cocktails 60 pesos.
