Mayor Luis Munguía launched a security and assistance operation for Holy Week and Easter 2025, anticipating thousands of visitors.
The operation includes the deployment of units and personnel from the Police, Public Safety, Traffic and Road Safety, and Efficient Services departments, among others.
Speaking at the Agustín Flores Contreras stadium esplanade on Monday, April 14, 2025, Munguía said Puerto Vallarta is prepared to welcome tourists with safety, cleanliness, and the best tourist attractions.
He was joined by Lt. Col. Juan Ramón Reyes of the 41st Military Zone Infantry; 2nd Capt. Mauro Romualdo Rodríguez of the Military Police; and Capt. Joaquín Reyes of the Twelfth Naval Zone, along with directors of various municipal areas.
The deployed operation includes:
- Civil Protection and Firefighters: 180 personnel and 50 volunteers, supported by 30 vehicles.
- Public Safety Department: 270 operational personnel, 54 patrol cars, 10 motorcycle patrol cars, and 10 ATVs.
- Traffic and Road Safety: 152 personnel to maintain order on public roads.
- Tourism Unit: 120 personnel to protect the tourist area, shopping centers, and banks.
- Efficient Services Directorate: 24-hour operational personnel in areas such as Public Lighting, Parks and Gardens, and Public Sanitation, in collaboration with the Environmental Network.
- Inspection, Surveillance, and Civil Liability: 42 officers working 24-hour shifts to prevent informal commerce on beaches and other parts of the municipality.
As part of the operation, the mayor delivered new equipment to be used by public safety operations including 30 pickup trucks, 10 motorcycles, 10 ATVs, six Silverados, and eight sedans to the Public Safety Department, with the goal of ensuring the safety and peace of mind of residents and visitors.
