The newly formed Vallarta Diversity Network made its first collective appearance at the recent Carnival, with the members carrying a large LGBTQ+ flag.
The Vallarta Diversity Network is made up of a coalition of organizations and activists, including Vallarta Trans, Diverso UDG, Conexión LGBT Vallarta, Seremos Padres MX, MOVii México and TransTies Vallarta, and has as one of its main objectives to promote inclusion and diversity, defend human rights and empower ourselves through collaboration.
One of the immediate purposes of the Vallarta Diversity Network is to promote the substantive work of the Municipal Sexual Diversity Council of Puerto Vallarta, advocating for policies and actions that promote equality and respect in the community.
According to Víctor Espindola, coordinator of MOVii, the Vallarta Diversity Network has emerged as a space for union and collaboration between various organizations and activists, maintaining the autonomy of each one to promote inclusion and respect in sexual and gender diversity. “Our mission is to unite the community in a joint effort to improve lives and promote equality,” he noted.
According to Sebastian León, leader of TransTies Vallarta, during the Puerto Vallarta Carnival, the members of the network enthusiastically joined the celebration, transmitting a message of love and respect for all people, regardless of their sexual orientation or identity. of genre.
