World renowned Chef Salvador Carrillo will be hosting a one of a kind Fiesta de Pueblo on the evening of October 6, 2023 at his well known Ixtapa restaurant, La Tienda Grande.

It is a way to promote the town where he was raised as a local destination and culinary hot spot. Named the Fiesta de Pueblo, Chef Carrillo and his team, will be joined by invited Chef Laura Romero, along with Mixologist Aaron Mendez.

The Fiesta will be a great way to make new friends, as everyone will be served at one long table with a dance floor and piñatas nearby.

The pairing dinner will feature 7 amazing courses including; Szechuan veggie dumpling, plantain lentils empanada, pork belly taco chino, brisket stuffed chili and moles, bittersweet chicken, chocolate piñata, and a savory cheese board.

The aforementioned delicacies will be joined by an encompassing array of incredible international wines.

A tequila/mezcal/raicilla inspired open bar will be available as well.

The reception will begin at 6:00pm, with dinner starting at 7:30pm. Entertainment, including; Xiutla ballet, the local singer Selena, and talented charro girls will be ongoing throughout the evening.

A fun filled one hour party will be enjoyed after the two to three hour leisurely dinner is completed.

As the chef, owner, and culinary director of La Tienda Grande, Salvador is proud to be a local brand focused on quality and the enjoyment of each and every guest.

“My main concern is to deliver happiness in every dish” he stated.

The event is creating much buzz, and everyone involved is looking forward to its success. The cost is 2,100 pesos per person, which does not include a tip.

About LAURA ROMERO

Laura is a 32-year-old young woman from Vallarta with a taste for food for as long as she can remember.

Her curiosity to learn how to prepare what she liked to eat led her to study gastronomy at the Bahía de Banderas Technological University in Nuevo Vallarta, where she always leaned toward sweet cuisine and in his professional career he was no exception; Being part of the pastry team at La Leche, Vista Grill, El Dorado and La Palapa restaurants.

In 2019 she decided to give a place to his conception of cuisine, and opened the restaurant La Fina together with partner Emilio Aramburo, a concept that was born from the idea of ​​fusing an inn with neighborhood cuisine, becoming a hidden gem of Puerto Vallarta, as some call it.

La Fina elevates the concept of neighborhood cuisine and puts a gourmet touch to all the dishes, polishing the flavors to achieve their maximum potential on the palate, the lamb quesadilla and the duck flautas become must-try dishes at the restaurant.

About AARON MENDEZ

Since he was little he worked on the beaches of Puerto Vallarta selling prepared coconuts with his family. Since childhood he discovered his great affinity for discovering aromas and flavors of the environment that surrounded him.

His first professional encounter with the bar was at the bar ¨El PKDO¨ as a bar assistant in 2014, moving on to the Marinero Ranchero as a bartender, he started as a bar assistant at the Restaurant ¨LA LECHE¨ for 2 years and later spent more than 3 years as manager of the restaurant’s bar, experimenting with the creation of cocktails for diners.

The most striking flavors for him are floral, tropical and sweet flavors.

In 2020 he met Chef Salvador Carrillo again and together they began to work on the design of the Restaurant’s cocktail bar. La Tienda Grande has become his first opportunity as a Mixologist since for more than 2 years he has been able to create the cocktails from scratch for all the menus of each of the seasons, taking inspiration from characteristic characters or from Ixtapa.
