Preparations are underway in Puerto Vallarta as the city gears up to host its annual Pride celebration, with organizers anticipating over 40,000 visitors for the week-long event.
The 12th edition of Vallarta Pride, considered one of Mexico’s most prominent LGBTQ+ celebrations, is scheduled to take place from May 17 to 25. City officials and the organizing committee recently convened to coordinate logistical and operational aspects aimed at ensuring the event proceeds smoothly and safely.
Councilwoman Melissa Madero, head of the Tourism Services and Visitor Relations Commission, presided over the meeting where details for the more than 20 public and private events planned throughout the week were discussed. The municipal government, under the leadership of Mayor Luis Munguía, has pledged its full support for the event.
A collaborative effort across various municipal departments is being implemented to manage the influx of visitors and activities. Participating agencies include Public Safety, Transit, Efficient Services, the Office of Sexual Diversity, the City and Historic Center Management, the Inspection, Surveillance, and Civil Liability Directorate, the Vallarta Institute of Culture, the Youth Directorate, COMUDE (the municipal sports council), and the Communications department.
Organizers anticipate a significant economic boost for the popular tourist destination as attendees participate in the diverse range of activities planned for Vallarta Pride 2025.
