An open house was held at the Vallarta Gay+ Community Center on Jan. 13, 2026, marking two years since the center’s founding and highlighting its public health and community outreach efforts.
Since its inception, the center has provided more than 2,000 PrEP appointments, 88 PEP appointments and more than 3,700 rapid tests for HIV, syphilis and hepatitis, according to organizers. The center has also referred 27 people for treatment.
Organizers said the center was created to help reduce HIV transmission while offering a safe and inclusive space for the LGBTQ+ community, crediting community support for making the work possible.
