Tryst Puerto Vallarta is inviting LGBTQ+ travelers to embrace their identities, celebrate freely, and “go feral” in a safe, sex-positive environment. The hotel, part of Tristan Schukraft’s growing Tryst Hotels brand, is designed to offer an unapologetically queer space where guests can be themselves without compromise.
In an interview with PRIDE magazine, Schukraft, who founded the brand, described Tryst Hotels as catering to the LGBTQ+ community with no pretense.
“We are gay. We are not hetero-friendly. We’re not gay-friendly. We’re gay! Come as you are. Everyone’s welcome, of course, but if you’re not going to feel uncomfortable being around drag queens or guys holding hands and kissing wearing thongs, then maybe The Tryst is not for you,” he said.
The Puerto Vallarta location, which had a soft opening in late 2024, and a grand opening in April 2025, features a rooftop pool, restaurant and drag brunches. Schukraft said the brand’s motto—encouraging guests to “embrace your worst behavior”—extends to every Tryst property, allowing visitors to enjoy both luxury and liberation in one place.
And it was recently announced that Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, would be the latest location to welcome a Tryst Hotel in 2026.
“Who knew Brazil could get gayer?! This is our biggest hotel yet. We’re going to have a rooftop pool, drag brunch, a huge gym, a bathhouse, and a top floor restaurant. You won’t have to leave the hotel if you don’t want to, but we hope you do. There’s a lot of reasons, starting with the hot men, to go to Brazil,” Schukraft told PRIDE in the same interview.
Beyond hospitality, Schukraft is CEO of MISTR, a telemedicine platform focused on HIV prevention and long-term care, reflecting the brand’s commitment to supporting queer health and well-being.
