“Incorpora”, a program that guarantees social security for independent workers from the LGBT+ community
Social Security for All (Incorpora), an initiative that seeks to guarantee access to social security for independent workers, including artists, dancers, gogos, strippers and sex workers from the LGBT+ community, was presented at a press conference on Feb. 24, 2025.
The event was attended by Kenya Cuevas, a renowned transnational and international activist in the defense of human rights; Carlos Gustavo “Pavín” Guzmán, director of Pensioner, and Víctor Espíndola, president of the Movement for Equality in Mexico (MOVii), who agreed on the importance of this initiative to close the inequality gap in access to health services and social benefits.
Incorpora is a voluntary affiliation scheme to the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), through a cooperative, which allows independent workers to access medical services, disability and life pensions, retirement funds, social benefits and INFONAVIT benefits.
During the presentation, Kenya Cuevas highlighted that this program represents a historic advance in the recognition of the labor rights of LGBT+ people, particularly those who have been systematically excluded from social security systems.
For his part, Carlos Gustavo Guzmán emphasized the need to generate accessible and inclusive insurance schemes, while Víctor Espíndola underlined MOVii’s commitment to promote this initiative and guarantee its effective implementation.
The Incorpora program is already underway and all interested persons are invited to learn about the details of the affiliation process and benefits through the official channels of MOVii and Pensioner.
