Named for its founders—Breau, Osorio, and Alexander—BOA blends master-level hairstyling, advanced massage therapy, and thoughtful design into an immersive, high-end experience unlike anything else in Vallarta.
When I spoke to them, three things were very clear when collaborating on this project:

The Artist Behind the Chair: Joshua Breau
At the heart of BOA’s salon services is Joshua Breau, Lead Hairstylist and co-founder—a name recognized in the professional hair world long before he ever arrived in Puerto Vallarta.
Joshua brings a decade of experience and an educator’s precision to every appointment. As a former Redken educator, he taught advanced color theory, corrective color, and precision cutting to stylists across North America.
“I’ve always believed that great hair isn’t about trends—it’s about technique,” Joshua says. “When you master the fundamentals, you can create something truly personalized for every single guest.”
Before relocating to Mexico, Joshua owned five successful salons in two different cities in Canada, earning a loyal clientele that included celebrities, TV personalities, and high-profile guests who trusted him with transformative color, flawless cuts, and camera-ready finishing. That same mastery now anchors BOA.
Working by appointment only, Joshua offers a fully personalized salon experience. Every visit begins with a thoughtful consultation—analyzing tone, texture, lifestyle, and personal expression—to ensure the end result is not just flattering, but confidence-building.
While Joshua serves as BOA’s primary stylist, the salon will also welcome rotating guest stylists in the future, each invited to showcase their craft in a space created for creative excellence.
But one thing is clear: the foundation of BOA’s hair services is Joshua’s steady hand, trained eye, and unwavering commitment to hair that looks—and feels—exceptional.
The Master of Relaxation: Mauricio Osorio
If Joshua defines how you look, co-founder and Lead Massage Therapist Mauricio Osorio defines how you feel.
Widely respected in both Puerto Vallarta and Mexico City, Mauricio is known for his rare ability to merge deep relaxation with therapeutic, results-driven bodywork. His sessions are frequently described as “transformative,” “healing,” and “the best massage in Vallarta.”
“My intention is always to listen—not just to the client, but to their body,” Mauricio explains. “Every session is tailored. Every movement is purposeful. For that reason, my clients tend to book more frequently, often weekly or bi-weekly appointments”
Whether it’s targeted deep tissue work, a full-body release, or restorative alignment, Mauricio adapts each massage with intuitive precision. While Joshua and Mauricio shape the hands-on artistry of BOA, the atmosphere—the feeling you get the moment you walk in—comes from Jamie Alexander, the “A” in BOA.
A veteran, now-retired, interior designer with over 25 years of award-winning experience, Jamie’s work spans branding, interiors, and experiential design. His approach is refined, intentional, and always rooted in emotional impact.
“At BOA, every detail was chosen to evoke a sense of brand, a feeling of calm,” Jamie shares. “I wanted guests to know the moment they walk in: this place is different—quietly luxurious, modern, and truly boutique. Many spas of this size leave design out of the equation and want to make it the first thing someone sees and feels.”
