Pop group JNS, a prominent name in Latin pop, is set to headline the Vallarta Pride 2025 Block Party on Thursday, May 22, capping off the Pride Parade.
Originally known as Jeans, the Mexican girl group rose to fame in the late 1990s with their teen-pop sound. Formed in Mexico City in 1993, the group underwent several lineup changes throughout its initial run from 1996 to 2008. Some of its most notable former members include Litzy and Dulce María, who went on to achieve individual success in music and television.
The current lineup of JNS, which reunited in 2015, features original member Angie Taddei, along with Melissa López and Regina Murguía, who joined the group in later years. Karla Díaz was also part of the reunion lineup but departed in 2024.
JNS is known for hit songs like “Enferma de Amor,” which became their signature track, “Pepe,” and “Me Pongo Mis Jeans.” The group released several successful studio albums, including their self-titled debut “Jeans” (1996), “¿Por qué disimular?” (1998), and “Metamorfosis” (2017) after their reunion and name change to JNS due to legal issues. They have also released live albums and participated in the popular “90’s Pop Tour” in Mexico.
The performance, scheduled for the conclusion of the traditional parade, is part of the 12th edition of Vallarta Pride, which runs from May 17-25.
Under the theme “The future has no gender,” the parade promises a display of color and celebration, leading into a large outdoor party featuring live entertainment and an atmosphere of unity and inclusion.
Vallarta Pride has become a significant event for the LGBTQ+ community, and is expected to draw some 40,000 locals and tourists. The week-long celebration includes a variety of events, such as cultural activities, parties, and community gatherings, all aimed at promoting diversity and acceptance.
