On the evening of Wednesday, January 21, 2026, the 2.16 Contemporary art gallery officially opened its doors at 325 Constitución Street in the Zona Romántica. The gala event introduced the exhibition “Liberatio” by Guadalajara-based artist Victor Haro, celebrating his 40-year career.
The evening featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by owners and gallerists Orlando Santamaría and Abrajam Romero—the creative minds behind the MuyGudd art festival—alongside Culture Councilwoman Laurel Carrillo and the artist himself, Victor Haro.
“Liberatio” is a traveling exhibition featuring a series of hyperrealistic works created using acrylic paste and airbrushing. Inspired by the concept of human liberation, the collection seeks to engage the public on a personal level.
“The intention is to provoke a catharsis in the viewer, prompting them to ask: ‘What are you liberating yourself from today?’” explained Haro, who expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to inaugurate a new cultural space in Puerto Vallarta.
Throughout the night, guests explored the gallery and viewed additional pieces by ten other Mexican artists. The atmosphere was further complemented by a curated bar service provided by Mezcal Artesanal Bruxo.
