The Zona Romántica’s nightlife scene just got a new addition. ONYX PV, a multi-concept venue promising “One Place, Infinite Sensations,” is set to celebrate its official grand opening tonight, October 31, 2025, with a festive Halloween party.
Located at Lázaro Cárdenas 522, just one block from the Emiliano Zapata Market, ONYX PV was conceived to become a unique destination by blending four distinct business segments under one roof, catering to a diverse clientele in Puerto Vallarta.
A Venue with Four Personalities
The core concept of ONYX PV is variety and inclusivity, designed so everyone “feels welcome everywhere.” The venue is composed of four unique areas:
- Mr. Exprimido: A relaxed lounge area featuring tables and chairs, offering a bar specializing in frappes and smoothies alongside traditional alcoholic cocktails. It’s pitched as the perfect spot for conversation.
- Zona de Escape (Escape Zone): The main bar and club-like area. Expect a livelier atmosphere with music, karaoke, and drag shows.
- Madedi Hats: A dedicated retail space offering a wide selection of branded hats, including exclusive designs.
- Incógnito: A second-level dark room positioned away from the other areas. This private space features alternative music and is designated as a smoking-permitted zone, offering a place “to discover, where you can be whatever you want to be.”
Inclusivity and Entrepreneurship
Owners, Lorenzo Antonio Marín (a gay entrepreneur originally from Tabasco who has lived in Puerto Vallarta for four years) and Jesse Hart, emphasize that the business is open and welcoming to all, not exclusively the LGBT+ community.
The bar’s regular operating hours will be from noon until 2:00 a.m. daily, with a Happy Hour running from 8:00 to 11:30 p.m. on regular days, offering house drinks (tequila, rum, vodka) for $60 mxn.
Halloween Grand Opening
The festivities kick off tonight at 7 p.m. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in costume for the Halloween celebration, which will be enlivened by performances from local singers Tonny Kenneth and Luis Villanueva. Drink specials: $30 pesos national beer and $70 pesos tequila shot + beer. The bar is also introducing its signature cocktail: Poción Onyx, a tequila cocktail with rooibos tea, activated charcoal, and black salt.
The Madedi Hats Experience
Madedi Hats is not your typical cap shop. It focuses on exclusive and recognized brands, targeting customers with a connoisseur’s knowledge of headwear. The line is characterized by its colorful and varied designs, some featuring diamond-like sparkles.
The shop is currently offering an opening discount. Madedi Hats features two exclusive designs: one celebrating Pride and another alluding to the Phoenix bird. The caps are manufactured with high-quality materials, including satin linings beneath the brim. The shop also offers hat cases and features both Mexican and U.S. brands.
