On the evening of January 6, 2024, I had the pleasure of attending an exhilarating musical extravaganza Mash It Up: Express Yourself, featuring the incredible Nick Rogers and his talented ensemble at Act2PV.
Under the direction of Alvaro Ros Tor and proudly sponsored by renowned PV hotels Casa Cupula and Hotel Mercurio, the performance was an electrifying showcase that energized the entire audience.
As Nick took the stage, he was joined by five other performers, delivering a spirited rendition of the 2022 hit “I’m Good (Blue).” Closing the song, Nick expressed that the essence of the show was to honor the audience, drawing thunderous applause.
The show continued with an impressive repertoire of iconic pieces, with Nick’s powerful renditions of beloved tunes like “Fight Song,” “Flowers,” “Roar,” and more captivating the audience throughout.
Popcorn, served up in tiny metal pots, added a cozy touch that made me feel like I was lounging in the comfort of my own home.
The big screens overhead lit up with the words “Choose Happy!” just as Nick kicked off with the infectious beats of Pharrell Williams’ lively hit, “Happy.”
A hush fell over the room, and Nick, swept up in emotion, shared a profound message: “Choosing happiness is a superpower, a lifestyle we can all embrace.”
Then, with genuine tenderness, Nick serenaded the crowd with a heartfelt rendition of “Just The Way You Are.”
After a quick break, Nick reappeared on stage sporting a dazzling ensemble—rocking a sparkly mesh shirt, a swanky black three-quarter-length skirt, and the most fabulous rainbow-hued cowboy boots.
The grand finale was an all-out, hands-in-the-air mashup of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” merged seamlessly with Madonna’s “Express Yourself.” Nick, crowned in gold, was encircled by his fantastic troupe, each waving a large LGBTQ flag, representing the diverse and colorful spectrum of humanity.
As the show concluded, Nick generously thanked and greeted every departing audience member personally.
In our conversation, Nick shared his vision, expressing, “This show is a celebration of each unique individual; our aim is to spread love and uplift spirits.”
