In a key meeting to strengthen collaboration between the public sector and the tourism industry, Councilwoman Melissa Madero, president of the Tourism Services and Visitor Services Commission of the Puerto Vallarta City Council, held a meeting with the new Board of Directors of the Puerto Vallarta and Bahía de Banderas Hotel Association A.C.
During the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to promoting joint strategies that benefit the hotel industry, sustainable tourism development, and the quality of services for visitors to the destination.
The meeting was attended by the newly elected president of the organization, Abel Villa Sánchez, who assumed the responsibility of leading this new stage of institutional renewal, as well as Mr. Daniel Torres D’Elia, appointed as the new general director of the Association.
Liliana Meléndez, who will serve as the organization’s treasurer, was also present.
“I am very pleased to congratulate this new Board of Directors of the Puerto Vallarta Hotel Association and, especially, my friend Abel Villa for his new role, which I am sure will be a success under his vision. We are confident that this new stage of joint work will allow us to consolidate actions that will increase Puerto Vallarta’s competitiveness as a leading destination in the Mexican Pacific,” said Councilwoman Madero.
With the formation of this new Board of Directors, the Association highlighted the participation and support of all members during this transition, emphasizing that this renewal seeks to strengthen the organization’s representativeness and its capacity to respond to the challenges of the sector.
The meeting was described as positive by both parties, who agreed on the importance of maintaining a constant and coordinated dialogue between the municipal government and the hotel sector to successfully address the challenges of tourism in the region.
