Individuals experiencing discomfort or respiratory symptoms may visit the ‘Doctor Tucán´ clinics in colonias Coapinole and Ixtapa.
The Health Promotion Directorate of Luis Munguía’s administration is calling on Puerto Vallarta residents to take preventive measures to protect their health and the well-being of their loved ones during the peak season for influenza and respiratory illnesses.
Dr. Miguel Ángel Suárez, head of Health Promotion, emphasized the vital importance of the influenza vaccine in preventing complications and further contagion. He also recommended several key practices:
- Wear a face mask if respiratory symptoms are present to protect others.
- Wash hands frequently to stop the spread of viruses and bacteria.
- Avoid self-medication and instead seek professional medical advice at the “Doctor Tucán” clinics if symptoms persist.
“If you experience symptoms such as high fever, difficulty breathing, or chest pain, please visit your health unit to receive proper care. Additionally, dress warmly and avoid sudden temperature changes to prevent illness,” Dr. Suárez explained.
Furthermore, officials recommend ventilating enclosed spaces to refresh the air and reduce the concentration of pathogens. Staying well-hydrated is also encouraged to support the immune system.
