As promised last year, starting Saturday, February 19, JetBlue will begin non-stop service from New York City to Puerto Vallarta. The move is part of its expansion to cover the Northwest of the United States.
As previously O&APV had announced Puerto Vallarta is ready to receive all visitors from New York and its metropolitan area during the first part of 2022. These new flights will also open the possibility of connecting with more cities on the East Coast of the United States, including Boston.
Luis Villaseñor Nolasco, director of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust, reported that this coming February 19, a new flight will be arriving from New York, from the JetBlue airline, with four operations a week: Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
“We are pleased to announce that this coming February 19 will arrive from New York, the United States completely full, so we are expecting about 180 arrival passengers and about 70 departure passengers, that is, the opportunity is also provided with this new flight that people who are in Vallarta visit the big apple”.
This new route, which will arrive from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, will provide around 1,050 seats per week to the Puerto Vallarta International Airport.
The New York metropolitan area has more than 27 million inhabitants and is an important market for Puerto Vallarta and the Bahía de Banderas metropolitan area.
The market of New York and its metropolitan area has high purchasing power, which invests in several trips throughout the year, especially in winter, plus what it represents in demand for seats through the bank of connections that the airport can generate from the neighboring cities.
In addition to this new route with JetBlue from New York, Puerto Vallarta maintains an important presence in the eastern United States with connections from Atlanta, Charlotte and Newark.
JetBlue can expect to join many other major airlines who offer a nonstop service to Puerto Vallarta, such as:
- Alaska Airlines: Los Angeles (LAX), San Jose (SJC), Seattle (SEA), San Diego (SAN), and Portland (PDX)
- American Airlines: Phoenix (PHX), Dallas (DFW), Chicago (ORD), and Los Angeles (LAX)
- Delta Airlines: Atlanta (ATL), Salt Lake City (SLC), Seattle (SEA), and Minneapolis (MSP)
- Frontier Airlines: Denver (DEN) and Las Vegas (LAS)
- Southwest Airlines: Houston (HOU), Santa Ana (SNA), Phoenix (PHX) and Denver (DEN)
- Spirit Airlines: Los Angeles (LAX), Houston (IAH), and Dallas (DFW)
- Sun Country Airlines: Dallas (DFW)
- United Airlines: Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), Denver (DEN), Houston (IAH), and Newark (EWR)
It was recently announced that Puerto Vallarta once again reaffirms its leadership and position in the US market. According to the latest report from the travel analysis firm ForwardKeys, the destination led the growth in the sale of flights nationwide with an increase of 68.5%.
