Puerto Vallarta is buzzing again after the calm of summer — the sunsets glow brighter, the evenings feel cooler, and the spirit of community is everywhere you look. As the holidays approach, one of the city’s most beloved charity events returns: The Tropical Christmas Party, supporting the Vallarta School for Girls, on Sunday, December 14, from 5–8 PM at Los Mangos Library.
Now in its third year, this lively celebration has become the place to kick off the season — an evening filled with music, laughter, and the joy of giving back. Guests will enjoy top-notch live entertainment, delicious food, festive drinks, a raffle, and a silent auction packed with treasures donated by generous local businesses.
A Celebration with Heart
“The Tropical Christmas Party is pure Vallarta — warm, joyful, and full of heart,” says music director Derek Carkner. “This year’s lineup is incredible — Kevin Anthony, Kim Kuzma, Stolie, Mau, and Delilah Beaucoup — all lending their talents to make the night unforgettable. It’s an evening that’s as fun as it is meaningful.”
The Vallarta School for Girls provides free education for over 40 local students, from elementary through high school. Funded entirely by donations, the school gives young women the chance to build bright, independent futures.
Founder Francie Nguyen shares, “Every year, I’m moved by how the community comes together to lift these girls. The Tropical Christmas Party isn’t just a fundraiser — it’s an evening that shows them how much people believe in their potential. When they help serve dinner, meet guests, and feel that love firsthand — that’s the true spirit of the season.”
Food, Fun & Festivity Under the Stars
The party takes place on the beautiful grounds of Los Mangos Library, a perfect setting for laughter and connection under the palms. Guests will enjoy a light meal served by the girls, sip drinks from two festive bars, and mingle at large communal tables.
Between the bites, music and conversation, guests can bid on exclusive silent auction items, try their luck in the raffle, and shop handmade crafts created by the students — perfect for meaningful holiday gifts with heart.
Dress to Impress: Tropical Holiday Style!
This year, organizers are turning up the fun with a brand-new Tropical Holiday Outfit Contest. Forget ugly sweaters — this is Puerto Vallarta! Think sparkling sundresses, island prints with a festive twist, bright accessories, bold hats, and a dash of glitter or gold. No sign-up needed — just arrive in your tropical holiday best and you could win a fabulous prize!
