Welcome to the Winter 2026 issue of Out and About PV Magazine — our most ambitious edition yet.
A new year always arrives with the promise of reinvention, reflection and possibility. In Puerto Vallarta, winter is the season when the city shines brightest — when travelers arrive, creativity flourishes and our community gathers with renewed energy. This issue captures that spirit in full color, with more stories, more voices and more heart than ever before.
For the first time in our history, we are proud to present four different cover stories — a milestone that reflects both the growth of our magazine and the depth of talent, activism and artistry shaping our community today. From powerhouse entertainers to powerful advocates, this winter’s covers celebrate the people who continue to define Puerto Vallarta’s cultural pulse.
We are also thrilled to welcome Christian Alexis Velasco as our new editor and associate publisher. A Puerto Vallarta native with more than a decade of experience in publishing and hospitality, Christian brings both professional expertise and deep local roots to his role. He now oversees editorial content for both our print and digital platforms while also assisting with business development and operations.
Inside this issue, you’ll find unforgettable conversations with icons like Hedda Lettuce, a spotlight on Brian Crum’s return to Coco Cabaret, and a deep dive into Joshua Rappaport’s creative reinvention. We asked the owner of ThrIVe Med Spa to share his journey as his business celebrates four years of growth. We conclude our beloved Tasting Life as Three series and introduce you to leading lesbian voices shaping visibility and representation in Mexico and beyond.
Our annual entertainment guide returns with Five Favorite Must-See Shows, highlighting performances you won’t want to miss, while Miss Conception ushers in a bold new era with a production that blends humor, spectacle and heart in equal measure.
In our Shaping Our Community series, we introduce leaders stepping into critical roles across the city — from sexual diversity governance to public health advocacy. We also celebrate homegrown talent in a special feature on Mexican drag artists redefining the stage with courage and creativity.
History lovers will enjoy our look at 100 years of Cuale Island, while our business coverage explores the cafés, bars, art spaces and culinary concepts changing the way Vallarta eats, socializes and celebrates. And in education and wellness, we spotlight two powerful initiatives: progress at Vallarta School for Girls and the launch of new mental health services for our LGBTQ+ community.
None of this happens without you — our readers, partners, advertisers, artists and storytellers. As we move into 2026, we do so with gratitude and purpose, committed to telling the stories that connect us and ensure our community continues to thrive.
Thank you for being part of our journey.
Warmly,
Jerry Jones
