The stage at Casino Life Marina Puerto Vallarta was the setting for a unique, joyful, and emotional night, as local performer and prominent LGBTQ+ community figure, Alberto Cuevas El Diamante (The Diamond), celebrated the premiere of his new music video, Macumba, before an enthusiastic audience and with live mariachi music this past Saturday, November 1, 2025.
Macumba is the artist’s third single and marks a milestone in his career with an audiovisual production directed by local talents and actors Juan Carlos Ramírez and Juan Pablo Hernández.
The Macumba music video tells a story of fantasy and personal discovery: a man falls under the playful spell of three drag queens who act as fairy godmothers, and through this experience, he finally finds love with another man.
The evening began with great energy. El Diamante made his entrance onto the stage wearing an elegant, sparkling white suit, opening the show with the vibrant song El Santo, El Cavernario. He was accompanied by a dance troupe that energized the venue with choreographies fusing regional Mexican music with carnival rhythms.
Before the anticipated music video presentation, there was a touching remembrance of El Diamante‘s participation in La Voz México 2020, where he captivated the public with his performance of the song El Ataúd.
For the second part of the show, the artist amplified the emotional intensity with the accompaniment of the Mariachi Nuevo Continental, delighting attendees with heartfelt songs from the ranchera repertoire. The event concluded with a powerful finale, where El Diamante performed the iconic songs Puño de tierra and Paloma Negra.
Attendees at the premiere were treated to a complimentary drink to toast the singer’s success.
With great sincerity, El Diamante took the opportunity to thank his sponsors (including Out & About PV) and the key people who have supported his career and this project: Paco Arjona and Teto Betancourt, Charly Santana (his music producer), Oscar Castillo(featured model in the video), Edgar Sánchez (show producer), as well as the video directors, Juan Carlos Ramírez and Juan Pablo Hernández.
Finally, he dedicated words of affection and gratitude to his family, naming his mother, María Martha Jaramillo Mendoza, and his sister, Perla Álvarez.
The premiere of Macumba solidifies Alberto Cuevas El Diamante as an important voice in contemporary ranchera music and a proud reference point for diversity in Puerto Vallarta’s artistic landscape. The single will be soon available in all the music streaming platforms.
