BeefDip Bear Week, the longest-running festival for the LGBTQ+ bear community in Puerto Vallarta, returns from January 24 to February 1 for its 24th anniversary. Presented by Steve Buczek, the event features an extensive program of activities, including pool parties, a booze cruise, fundraising events, and nightly club parties hosted by international DJs.
BeefDip has become a staple annual tradition for late January. Over the years, it has earned a reputation for its friendly, inclusive, and unpretentious atmosphere—making it the perfect opportunity for bears and their admirers to meet, have fun, and socialize.
Admission to festival events is managed through the famous Dog Tags (available on the BeefDip website), which also provide special discounts at various restaurants and bars throughout the festival. Dog Tags are available in two versions:
- Full Pass GOLD: Grants access to all events, including the Booze Cruise.
- Pass SILVER: Grants access to the entire program except for the Booze Cruise.
This year, more than 1,000 attendees are expected at the scheduled events.

According to the organizers, dog tags will also be available for purchase at their welcome centers in Hotel Blue Chairs and Hotel Delfín (hours of operation below), or you can pay at the door of each of the events for a individual pass. Although they encourage to check their social media and website for updates or last minute changes.
Tidal Wave Fundraiser
Throughout its history, BeefDip has supported various local non-profit organizations, such as SETAC and the RISE orphanage, through its Tidal Wave Pool Party. The 2026 edition of this event will take place on Thursday, January 29, and will benefit Vallarta Cares (formerly Vallarta Food Bank), an organization dedicated to providing food, clean water, and dignity to low-income families in Puerto Vallarta.
“We decided to support Vallarta Cares this year because we believe that providing food for children and families is fundamental—it is the essential starting point for contributing to any other cause,” said Steve Buczek.
During the event, three large gift baskets featuring “goodies” and collectible outfits from the Nasty Pig brand will be auctioned off. According to its website, BeefDip has helped raise over $145,000 CAD for social causes throughout its history.
