As the holiday season approaches, Puerto Vallarta is set to host a spectacular, one-night-only musical event. The city’s celebrated musical trio (known collectively as CelloVoci) will join forces for the first time on the grand stage of Teatro Vallarta for “A Night Divine – A Holiday Celebration Like No Other.”
The concert will take place on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 8 to 10 p.m. This exclusive performance promises a unique fusion of artistry, blending beloved Christmas classics with powerful, show-stopping pop hits, all performed with a full live orchestra under the musical direction of the acclaimed Mark Hartman.
The convergence of these four established talents marks a significant cultural event for the region.
Effie Passero: A powerhouse vocalist and virtuoso singer and pianist, Ms. Passero first rose to widespread recognition as a contestant on ABC’s American Idol. Classically trained in operatic vocals, she is known for her immense vocal range and is currently touring with the immensely popular, sold-out Postmodern Jukebox. She is noted for her ability to traverse genres, shining brightest with ballads while also crafting her own singer/songwriter and musical theatre compositions.
Branden & James: This internationally touring duo is composed of the soaring tenor Branden James and the Australian cellist and arranger James Clark. The duo met in Los Angeles, married in 2018, and have since gained a following for their live performances and collaborative work.
Branden James is an America’s Got Talent finalist and former resident tenor at major houses including The Metropolitan Opera, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, and the Los Angeles Opera. James Clark, whose arrangements have been called “flawless” and “beautifully structured,” holds a Master’s Degree in Cello Performance and has accompanied stars such as Idina Menzel and Olivia Newton-John. Together, they form a classical-crossover act known for innovative, emotionally powerful arrangements that NPR Music has praised for their “dazzling cello and soaring tenor vocals.”
Sutton Lee Seymour (Host): Bringing an element of New York cabaret flair and high comedy, Sutton Lee Seymour is a renowned drag queen, comedian, and live-singing performer. Known as the “Robin Williams of Drag” and celebrated for her wit and impressive vocal range, she has headlined for 11 seasons in Puerto Vallarta, toured with Atlantis Events on their LGBTQ+ cruise vacations, and appeared in Off-Broadway productions. She will serve as the dazzling host for the evening.
Mark Hartman (Musical Director): Guiding the evening’s orchestral arrangements is New York-based musical director Mark Hartman. His distinguished career includes serving as Associate Conductor for the Broadway productions of “Sondheim On Sondheim” and “Avenue Q.” Mr. Hartman is a celebrated pianist, coach, and conductor, having worked extensively in theater, cabaret, and concerts globally, and is a multiple MAC and Backstage Bistro Award recipient for Music Direction.
