Vallarta Pride 2025 officially kicked off Saturday with the inauguration of a powerful photography exhibition titled “There is no future without memory,” hosted and sponsored by Donner & Associates in the Romantic Zone at 342 5 de Febrero (enter on a side door behind the front of Donner & Associates).
The exhibition, curated by Erick Kitsune , is an initiative by Vallarta Pride and aims to remember and reconstruct the fundamental role the LGBTQIA+ community has played in shaping the history of Puerto Vallarta. It features a collection of photos, videos and artifacts that highlight key moments and struggles, from the community’s vibrant contribution to the city’s nightlife to its ongoing role in social activism.
The inauguration event followed the March Against Homophobia on Saturday evening and was held at the Donner & Associates location.
“There is no future without memory” reminds visitors of the significant impact the LGBTQ+ community has had on the city’s development and identity. The exhibit will be on display from Sunday, May 18, through Friday, May 23 and is free of charge. Viewing hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, with the exception of Wednesday, May 22, when the hours will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Donner & Associates expressed pride in sponsoring and hosting the kickoff event, thanking the Vallarta Pride committee for the opportunity, their staff for their efforts and the community for their support and attendance.
The exhibition serves as a central cultural event during Vallarta Pride, inviting residents and visitors to reflect on the community’s past as they celebrate its present and future.
