SEAPAL Vallarta will temporarily suspend drinking water service from 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, until the afternoon of Saturday, April 12 in numerous neighborhoods
SEAPAL Vallarta will commission Well 42, located in the El Remance neighborhood next to the Cuale River, to increase the city’s water supply by approximately 30 liters per second. However, the work will necessitate a significant, temporary water shutoff in numerous downtown neighborhoods.

The commissioning of Well 42 is a strategic project by the Luis Munguía administration to bolster water infrastructure, particularly in anticipation of increased demand during the Holy Week and Easter holiday period, when Puerto Vallarta experiences a surge in tourist activity. SEAPAL officials also stated that this action is taken to combat the infrastructure deficit that has been a problem for the current administration, headed by Carlos Ruiz, which has resulted in supply disruptions.
To connect the new well to the Iturbide and Aguacate water tanks, SEAPAL Vallarta will temporarily suspend drinking water service from 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, until the afternoon of Saturday, April 12.
The water shutoff will affect residents and businesses in the following neighborhoods: Alta Vista, Benito Juárez, Centro, Conchas Chinas, Emiliano Zapata, El Caloso, El Cerro, Gastronómicos, López Mateos, 5 de Diciembre, Lázaro Cárdenas, Las Canoas, Las Peñas, Olímpica, and the Hotel Zone from Las Amapas to Hotel Krystal.
SEAPAL Vallarta officials urged residents and businesses to take precautions by storing water and using it responsibly during the disruption. They thanked the public for their understanding and emphasized the importance of water conservation.
