For the first time in history, Vallarta Pride 2025 and the municipal government of Puerto Vallarta has formalized an alliance, strengthening collaboration between authorities, private initiatives, and the community to support one of Mexico’s most significant multicultural and inclusion events.
The meeting solidifying this partnership included Puerto Vallarta Mayor Luis Munguía; Vallarta Pride Organizing Committee President Javier Jiménez; Director of Operations Alfredo Soria; Director of Public Relations Carlos Plascencia; Deputy Director of Commercial and Service Liaison Luis Tello; and City Councilwoman Melissa Madero, who serves as president of the Commission of Tourist Services and Visitor Attention.
Madero, a leading advocate for the collaboration, emphasized the alliance’s positive impact on the city.
“Support for Vallarta Pride is a recognition of diversity and a commitment to the economic and tourism growth of Puerto Vallarta,” she said. “It is not only a celebration but also a platform for activism, education, and inclusion.”
She also expressed gratitude to Munguía for his support in making the partnership a reality, marking the first time the municipal government will take an active role in the event’s organization. Madero announced the formation of a special committee to ensure the continued growth and success of the festival.
Additionally, she acknowledged the contributions of entrepreneurs Javier Jiménez and Vidal Meza, who have been instrumental in Vallarta Pride since its inception, along with the many businesses and organizations that have supported the festival over the years.
Vallarta Pride 2025 will take place from May 17 to 25 under the theme “The Future Has No Gender.” The festival will feature more than 20 events spanning culture, health, education, politics, sports, and community engagement. Most activities will be free, except for certain sporting events, dinners, and optional donations.
